USA Weightlifting Announces Colorado Springs as Host for 2025 and 2026 National Championships
COLORADO SPRINGS - USA Weightlifting is excited to announce that Colorado Springs, Colorado, will host its National Championships week in both 2025 and 2026. This announcement marks the organization’s first-ever multi-year partnership with a destination, underscoring the city’s reputation as a premier location for Olympic sports.
After a successful National Championships week held in Colorado Springs in 2023, Pedro Meloni, USA Weightlifting’s Director of Events and Sponsorship, expressed excitement for the return. “We are thrilled to extend our stay in Olympic City USA,” Meloni said. “The event in 2023 was a great success. We want to repeat what worked and continue to provide our members with a world class experience in our home town.”
The competitions will take place from June 21-29, 2025 and June 20-28 in 2026 at the Ed Robson Arena, a state-of-the-art venue that has quickly become a centerpiece for sports in the region. Opened in 2021, the arena features 3,400 permanent seats and ample space for athletes and spectators. It is located at the north end of Downtown Colorado Springs, a booming area that includes over 100 restaurants, breweries, distilleries, coffee shops and bars, and nearly 1,000 hotel rooms split among seven hotels, all within walking distance.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to host the 2025 and 2026 Weightlifting National Championships at Ed Robson Area! The 2023 event showcased the versatility of the space and a tremendous success in our growing partnership with USA Weightlifting. We are excited to continue to bring many new faces to CC’s campus and the Colorado Springs community,” said Justine Square, Executive Director at the Robson Arena.
Colorado Springs, designated as Olympic City USA in 2015, is home to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and over 20 National Governing Bodies. Its vibrant sports culture is further enriched by attractions such as the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, both just minutes from Ed Robson Arena.
As anticipation builds for the upcoming National Championships in 2025 and 2026, USA Weightlifting looks forward to celebrating the strength and dedication of the country’s best athletes in Olympic City USA.
