Reno to Host 2024 USA Weightlifting Masters National Championships

Colorado Springs, Colorado (July 26, 2023) – The nation’s best Masters weightlifting athletes will descend on The Biggest Little City in the World as Reno, Nevada, will play host to the 2024 USA Weightlifting Masters National Championships March 21-24.

The event, organized by the award-winning USA Weightlifting Events department, will be held at The Reno Ballroom, in partnership with Calavera Barbell and the Reno Convention and Visitors Bureau.

“This championship will bring together Masters members from across the nation, as we honor their dedication and unwavering commitment to the sport,” USA Weightlifting CEO Matt Sicchio said. “We can’t wait to get to Reno and hold this event exclusively for Masters members, and crown National Champions.”

Today’s announcement follows USA Weightlifting’s updated Bidding, Awarding and Hosting of Weightlifting Competitions Sanctioned by USA Weightlifting policy. Further information is available in CEO Matt Sicchio’s open letter from the spring.

Qualification for the event mirrors all other USA Weightlifting National Events. Members must post a qualifying total in any USAW-sanctioned meet during the qualification period. The qualification period for the 2024 USA Weightlifting Masters National Championships runs from February 22, 2023-February 22, 2024. 

Early registration opens on November 1 with late registration running through March 14, 2024. Further qualification information is below. Qualifying totals can be found here.
