2025 USAW Masters Nationals Heading to Atlanta

COLORADO SPRINGS - The 2025 USA Weightlifting Masters National Championships are heading to Atlanta, Georgia, April 3-6 at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), the location of the 2022 USAW North American Open Finals. USAW is partnering with the ATL Airport District Convention & Visitors Bureau, ALLSOUTH Barbell Club, and Powerlifting America to bring the event to Atlanta, with ALLSOUTH Barbell Club marked as the host club for masters nationals. The USAW Masters National Championships will run parallel to Powerlifting America’s 2025 Classic Open and University Nationals at the GICC. Powerlifting America is the recognized United States member federation affiliate to the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), and expects to host over four hundred athletes.

"We're excited to bring USA Weightlifting back to Atlanta for the 2025 Masters Nationals,” said Andy Coggins, founder and head coach of ALLSOUTH Barbell Club. “ALLSOUTH Barbell is proud to host and looking forward to showcasing the strength of the masters weightlifting population on the platform right here in Atlanta."

”We are thrilled to partner with USA Weightlifting,” said Michael Zawilinski, Executive Director of Powerlifting America. “As the National Governing Bodies in strength sports, this collaboration is a monumental step in bringing together the strength community while maintaining the values of drug-free sports under USADA. We are united in our excitement for the combined events set to take place in Atlanta this coming April.”

The competitions will have a significant economic impact for the city of Atlanta. With more than 80 percent of expected participants traveling from out of state, the influx of visitors is expected to provide a substantial boost to the local economy. Hotels, restaurants, and various local businesses are poised to benefit from the increased tourism, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between sports and community growth.

“This will be a great strength-sports festival that will give our members the opportunity to celebrate the masters weightlifting community while simultaneously taking in some incredible powerlifting as well", said Pedro Meloni, USAW Events & Sponsorship Director. “We’re grateful for everyone who helped make this weekend possible and we’re eager to host these communities.”

The Georgia International Convention Center is conveniently located one quarter-mile from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and ten minutes from the heart of Atlanta. It’s connected to the airport by the free ATL SkyTrain. The GICC features 150,000 feet of exhibit space and 300,000 total square feet of space, the largest ballroom in Metro Atlanta.
